Biography

Evan Poirier is a Life Sciences student at Queen’s University with an interest in healthcare and medicine. His undergraduate experience has included academic and extracurricular opportunities that explore clinical practice, healthcare systems and the wider professional environment surrounding medicine.

His health-related training has included structured learning in bladder-cancer pathology, anatomy and treatment. This provides one point of connection between his broad life-sciences studies and more focused questions about cancer and clinical care.

Evan has also sought opportunities to understand healthcare through direct exposure and professional exchange. His profile includes planned clinical observership activity and participation in student-led healthcare events at Queen’s.

At the Queen’s Healthcare and Business Conference, he engaged with discussions at the intersection of medicine, health systems and organizational decision-making. Together, these activities create a profile centred on curiosity about medicine, healthcare systems and the many settings through which students begin translating scientific learning into professional understanding.
