Biography

Christine Ha completed both her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Queen’s University, where she received the CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarships–Master’s award. As a member of GHIRL, her research examined the economic evaluation of HPV-based cervical-cancer screening in Tanzania, focusing on the trade-offs between management strategies following extended HPV genotyping.

Her work asks a practical implementation question: when several clinically plausible strategies are available, which pathways offer the strongest balance of effectiveness, affordability and sustainability for the health system and the women it serves? This research has strengthened her interests in global health, health equity and the design of cervical-cancer prevention strategies that can remain effective beyond a study setting.

Christine’s research has been selected for presentation at the International Papillomavirus Conference. Beyond research, she enjoys travelling and exploring different cultures through food—an interest that reflects the curiosity about people and places that also draws her to global health.
