WEMA colleagues learning together across research methods and practice

Learning from methods. Seeing them in practice.

Learning families

Research methods become most useful when learners can move from an explanation of an approach to seeing what that approach actually does inside a real study. WEMA's Learning & Capacity Building resources are designed to enrich that understanding. They introduce important research methods, analytical approaches, implementation frameworks and practical tools in clear narrative form, show how their key elements fit together through visual pathways, and then connect the method to studies and programmes in which members of our community have applied or examined it.

The aim is not to build a catalogue of definitions. It is to help students, researchers, practitioners and collaborators understand why a method is chosen, which decisions it helps a team make, how it shapes design or interpretation, and what its use looks like when research meets a real health system or community. Each example introduces the study or project, identifies researchers from our community where their involvement is documented, and explains how the methodological choice shaped the work. Direct links then allow visitors to move from the learning resource into the underlying project, publication or authoritative guidance.
